Founders Merit Scholarship Program

Our 2010-2011 merit scholars (recipients of the 2009 and 2010 Founders Merit Scholarships and the 2010 Morin Talented Student Merit Scholarships)
Fredericksburg Academy is pleased to offer the Founders Merit Scholarship Program to honor the vision of the founders of Fredericksburg Academy and to support the college-preparatory mission of the school. To recognize academic excellence, up to four exceptional ninth-grade students (two returning FA students and two new students) will be named Founders Merit Scholars. Recipients will receive a half-tuition scholarship for each of their Upper School years, provided that they maintain solid academic performance and contribute positively to the Fredericksburg Academy community. Recipients will be selected on the basis of academic performance in their previous and current schools, our admission test results, teacher recommendations, and their contributions to their school communities.
Prospective students interested in applying for the scholarship must apply for admission and must complete the Founders Merit Scholarship Application (available from the Office of Admission.) The scholarship form is due in the Admission Office by the end of March, 2010. Candidates for the scholarship must take our Admission/Merit Scholarship test on Saturday, January 22, 2011 or Saturday, March 26, 2011 in order to qualify for consideration.
Finalists will be selected in the spring and then invited to campus for a scholarship interview. Recipients will be selected and notified in May.
