The Free Lance-Star published an article on FA's role in encouraging other schools to "go green." FA is hosting the Green Cup Challenge Kick-Off Conference in the Upper School on January 15. Click here to read the story!
FA will host students from seven independent schools in Virginia and Maryland for conference. The students will participate in break-out sessions, hear from a keynote speaker from Sidwell Friends School on green building techniques, and learn the details of the Green Cup Challenge.
The challenge, which is organized by the Green Schools Alliance, helps students become leaders in decreasing their schools' energy consumption and carbon footprint. FA students at all levels will be participating in the challenge.
In addition to FA's Upper School students, students and faculty from the following schools will attend the conference: Virginia Episcopal School, St. Stephen's-St. Agnes School, Christchurch School, North Cross School, and Oldfields School.
