Giving to FAGifts to Fredericksburg Academy ensure the opportunity for an outstanding independent school educational experience. Each year, gifts to the Annual Fund offset current operating expenses. Periodically, the Academy has a campaign to solicit funds for a particular capital improvement project. Most recently, the Academy completed the 2nd Decade Campaign. Fredericksburg Academy relies on generous contributions to enhance a quality education. These gifts—and the income generated from them—will continue to be critical as the Academy strives to expand its educational mission and facilities. Gifts are tax-deductible as allowed by law. A variety of giving opportunities are available for every financial and tax situation.
Annual Fund The Annual Fund is an appeal to raise unrestricted funds to support the current operating budget. These funds, along with tuition, endowment income, and other income such as rentals, enable the school to continue to offer the only opportunity for an independent education in the Fredericksburg area. The appeal runs with the Academy's fiscal year, July 1 to June 30. Frequently Asked Questions What is an unrestricted gift? A gift made to Fredericksburg Academy without restrictions, used to meet the current operating budget.
What is a matching gift? Many companies will match an employee's gift to non-profit groups such as Fredericksburg Academy. Please ask your company's personnel officer for the correct forms.
Will my gift make a difference? Yes, your gift has an immediate impact on the operating budget of the current year. Also, your support encourages others to participate. Many corporations and foundations that may offer assistance to the Academy look at participation rates as a barometer of support from the school community.
Is my gift to Fredericksburg Academy tax-deductible? Yes, gifts to the Annual Fund are fully tax-deductible under Section 501 (c) (3) of the U.S. Internal Revenue Code. However, different gifts have different tax implications for each individual donor. Your tax professional can best advise you in these matters.
Will I be asked to support other needs at the school? If you have but one gift to give, we ask that you make a gift to the Annual Fund. Additional opportunities to give include events sponsored by the Parent-Faculty Association and various school organizations. Events may include cookouts, dances, Fall Carnival, the Prom, the Perch, and other outings.

Capital Giving Capital Gifts are one-time or multi-year pledges for endowment funds, major equipment (i.e. school buses), and capital projects (i.e. improvements to the building and grounds), and are raised periodically. The 2nd Decade Campaign exceeded its goal. We raised $8.75 million. Thank you to all who made this possible. The campaign secured unrestricted funds for endowment to offset the costs in implementing the Prelude and Phase I of the 2nd Decade Growth Plan. The plan included the expansion of the athletic facilities with new game and practice fields along with four tennis courts and construction of the new Arts and Sciences Building and Theater.
