Dive into the world of STEM with weekly topics exploring different fields ranging from coding to engineering to circuitry to chemistry. Includes numerous demonstrations, experiments, and hands on challenges for students to test out what they've learned.

This session is part I in our STEM series.

David Claeson '17, an FA alumnus and experienced Enrichment and Falcon Club staff member is a rising junior in the University of Mary Washington's Elementary Education program and has a passion for all things related to STEAM.

Mindful Movement I

JK and Kindergarten

This class will creatively introduce students to yoga and mindful movement practices designed to help develop social-emotional skills, body awareness, and balance. Mindfulness crafts and music activities will also be incorporated into the sessions.

Rachelle Shields is an RYT 200 certified Yoga Instructor who is insured and registered with Yoga Alliance.  She also works as a substitute teacher for the Spotsylvania County School System.  She has a Masters degree in music performance (opera emphasis), and runs a private music studio.  She combines her love of yoga, music, teaching, and children into unique mindfulness classes designed to inspire creativity and body awareness.

Soccer Skills - part I

Part one of this fall soccer program will guide students through a series of soccer fundamentals and drills culminating in an official scrimmage. Students will increase fitness, gain knowledge of the game, and enjoy visits from Coach Gregory Vickrey who oversees FA's Middle School and Varsity Soccer programs.

Coach Kylie McKeen, from the Fredericksburg Soccer Club, will join FA's Enrichment program to lead this session.  The FSCI philosophy focuses on developing each individual player to their full potential instead of focusing on team accolades. This paradigm promotes the development of creative, skillful, and intrinsically motivated players.

Join Born 2 Win Basketball for an exciting program that focuses on fundamentals as well as tailored individualized instruction.  This program will cover ball handling, passing, footwork, shooting, defense, 1 vs 1, 3 vs 3, and a free throw contest.

Coach Rick Wright is a professional skills trainer who has trained over 200 players from the early development stage to the NBA. Born 2 Win's belief in RELATIONSHIPS and COMMUNICATION are the basis for success on the court and off.

Fifth grade strings is a two semester group lesson, only for FA students, designed to give students a basic understanding of their chosen instrument (violin, viola, cello, string bass), as well as learning the craft and art of music making.  Learn more...

Mrs. Debra Anker has been teaching music in public and private schools since 1984. Mrs. Anker is a member of the National Association for Music Education and the American String Teachers Association.

Enrichment Daily Schedule:

  • 3:30     Students go from classroom to Falcon Club for snack
  • 3:40     Homework time at Falcon Club
  • 3:55     Falcon Club staff walk students to Breezeway
  • 4:00     Enrichment Instructor picks up students at Breezeway and program begins
  • 5:00     Students brought back to Breezeway to Falcon Club staff for pickup or return back to Falcon Club

*When picking up your student, either at 5:00 p.m. at pickup, or later from Falcon Club, please park in the Lower School Parking Lot and walk to pick up your student in the Breezeway or at the appropriate Falcon Club location.

**If you are picking your student up from Falcon Club after 5:00, normal Falcon Club rates will apply.  If you are not already on a Half or Full Year Plan, you can pre-purchase hourly coupon cards for $9/hr or pay the drop in rate of $12/hr.
