Elegos Literary Magazine
Founded in 2005, Elegos is a student-run publication whose purpose is to highlight student works. Staff members meet during clubs time on Tuesdays to create and edit the magazine, which is published in the spring.
What types of work does Elegos accept?
We accept poetry, fiction, and art.
Why should I submit?
There are many reasons, including improving one's skill, public recognition, and the satisfaction of seeing your work in print.
How do I submit?
Submit a hard copy in the Elegos Box, located in Mrs. Clark Evans's room, Room 134. Next, Elegos will review the piece, and e-mail you to notify you of its receipt and possible inclusion in the magazine. All submissions must meet the guidelines listed at the bottom of this page. All contest entries must be marked for the contest being entered without altering the piece (contest name written on a corner, cover sheet, etc.).
If the work is accepted for publication, you will be asked to send an electronic copy to the submissions editor.
Check this page during the school year for information on writing, art, and multimedia contests sponsored by Elegos.
- Typed pieces must be in 12-point type, Times New Roman. Poetry must be 20 lines max. Fiction must be double-spaced and five pages max. Elegos retains basic editing rights.
- If artwork too large for the submission box, please take a photo of the artwork and submit the photo; otherwise, simply place in the box.
