Sixth through Eighth Grade
Intermediate and Advanced Development. This camp will guide players and teams through stages of technical and tactical development appropriate to each player and team at the middle school age levels. Initial player evaluations ensure programming is suited to each player at this camp, with an emphasis toward intermediate and advanced skills, field awareness, fitness, and tactics. Speed, agility, and quickness concepts are introduced. Small-sided games, full-sided games, on-field activities, gym time and pool time are included. Individuals, recreational teams, club teams, and school teams are appropriate for this camp.
Led by FA Varsity Soccer Coach Gregory Vickrey in partnership with the Fredericksburg Soccer Club (Phoenix) whose philosophy centers on player development. Player development is a paradigm that focuses on developing each individual player to their full potential instead of focusing on team accolades. This paradigm promotes the development of creative, skillful, and intrinsically motivated players. This approach provides a player the best opportunity to reach their goals whether it’s earning more playing time, making the high school team, college team, etc.
